Design Projects:

Sidewalks:
Dearfield Drive Sidewalk: Sidewalk construction on the West side of Dearfield Drive, Putnam Avenue to the Lake Avenue Circle.
Mallard Drive Sidewalk: Sidewalk construction from East Putnam Avenue to Anderson Road.
Old Orchard Road Sidewalk: Sidewalk construction on the West side of Old Orchard Road from North Mianus School to Palmer Hill Road.


Traffic and Pedestrian Safety Improvements:
Cos Cob Safe Routes: Sidewalk, Crosswalk, and Traffic calming improvements at various locations throughout Cos Cob. Consultant: Fuss & O’Neill Inc.
Old Greenwich Safe Routes: Sidewalk, Crosswalk, and Traffic calming improvements at various locations throughout Old Greenwich. Consultant: Beta Group, Inc.
North Mianus Safe Routes: Sidewalk, Crosswalk, and Traffic calming improvements at various locations throughout placeNorth Mianus.

Bridges:
Palmer Hill Road Bridge over Mianus River: The Preliminary Engineering Report was completed on October 01, 2005 and was presented to the public at the Public Information Meeting held on April 27, 2006. Based on discussions at the Public Information Meeting, the Engineering Division began the design of the plans and specifications in Fiscal Year 2006-2007 for Alternative #1 from the Preliminary Engineering Report. Round Hill Road Bridge over Converse Pond Brook: Bridge Repairs and Maintenance for Round Hill Road Bridge. 30% design phase has been completed by WMC Engineers. Estimated start of construction is in FY 06-07.
Porchuck Road Bridge over East Branch Byram River: Bridge Reconstruction, estimated start of construction: Summer 2008. Consultant: Dewberry
John Street Bridge over East Branch Byram River: Preliminary Design Plans for the reconstruction of the John Street Bridge. Preliminary Design to be completed in            FY 06-07.
Shore Road Bridge over Horseneck Brook: The Commitment for funding was received from the Connecticut Department of Transportation under the Federal Local Bridge Program in July 2006. Consultant selection and Preliminary Design will begin in 2007.

Dams:
Town owned Dam Maintenance: Design of repairs and maintenance for Wooley Pond Dam, Old Pond Dam, Mianus Park Pond Dam, Montgomery Pond Dam, East Pond Dam and Cos Cob Pond Dam. The Consultant design contract is pending. The analysis and design for maintenance items along with minor repairs will begin in 2007.

Roadways/Drainage:
Drainage Study: Study/Analysis for St. Roch Avenue, Gerry Street, and Booth Court vicinity along with Phase I construction of improvements for the drainage system.

Project Management:

Drainage:
Infrastructure Inspection/Drainage Data Collection: Inspection of 10,000+ storm drain manholes and catch basins to collect information on structure, frame, and pipe materials, conditions, sizes, and shapes as well as pipe inverts and storm drain connectivity of the Town’s drainage system. The database is being developed for use with the Town’s GIS system.
EPA Phase II Storm Water Regulations: Development and Implementation of a Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP) for the Town as required by the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Phase II Storm Water Regulations. Project includes illicit discharge detection and elimination and updating the Town’s manuals and regulations.

Strickland Road Sidewalk Construction: Sidewalk reconstruction from Route 1 to Mill Pond Court. Contractor: Fred N. Durante, Jr. General Contractor, Inc. Contract Amount: $49,540.

Bridges:
Comly Avenue Bridge Reconstruction over Byram River: Bridge Reconstruction over Byram River. Construction to start in 2007. Consultant: WMC Engineers.

Roadways/Drainage:
Rye Lake Avenue/King Street Intersection: Construction of a roundabout at the intersection of King Street and Rye Lake Avenue and drainage improvements on Rye Lake Avenue. Contractor: Fred N. Durante, Jr. General Contractor, Inc.
King Street: Final Design of road reconstruction and drainage improvements from Bowman Drive to Shemin Nurseries. Construction to start in 2007.
South Water Street and Mead Avenue Roundabout: Construction of a roundabout at the intersection and related improvements. Contractor: Fred N. Durante, Jr. General Contractor, Inc.
North Street Retaining Wall: Roadway Improvements and Retaining Wall repair on North Street at Rockwood Lake. Retaining wall repairs are completed; roadway improvements remain. Contractor: A. Vitti Excavators, LLC. Contract amount: $182,215.

Sewer:
John J. Kennedy Facility: Pump station design and sewer construction.
Consultant: Milone and MacBroom. Bids for construction were received on December 14, 2006. Estimated start date: Spring 2007.

Dry Hydrants:
Dry Hydrant Installations: The installation of Dry Hydrants for the Fire Department at Sumner Road, North Porchuck Road, Riversville Road, Ernest Thompson Seton Reservation, and Close Road (Re-design). Construction to begin in 2007. Contractor: White Contractors.
