If your home is served by a septic system the most important thing you can do to extend the life of the system is to have the tank pumped regularly by a licensed professional.  It is generally recommended that homeowners have their tanks pumped and inspected once every three years.  Your system may require more or less depending on the size of the system and the amount of use it gets.

If you need to find out where your septic tank and fields are come down to Town Hall to the Environmental Services office on the third floor and see if we have them on file.  We have files for most systems installed since the 1960’s.  Office hours are Monday through Friday 8AM – 2:30PM.
