Park Permits/Group Outings

Reservations can be made for the 2009 Summer Season beginning at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2009.

Permit holders must be 21 years of age or older, and must be part of the picnic group or overnight group that they are reserving.

Reservations must be made in person at the Department of Parks and Recreation, 2nd floor, at least 2 weeks prior to date of reservation.

A $30.00 Non-Refundable Reservation Fee (cash or check) is required at time of reservation to secure a date along with proof of residency.


Greenwich Point-Clambake Area:
Can be reserved for 50 to 500 people.

  • No corporate picnics on Saturdays or Sundays.
  • No more than 150 people on Saturdays or Sundays.
  • Pavilion, restrooms, grills and picnic tables provided.
  • Small Tent (900 sq ft max.) allowed.
  • No pets allowed.
  • No weddings permitted.
  • No amplified music permitted.

Greenwich Point/Cowbarn Area:
***Does not include Seaside Garden area usage***
  • Holds:      26 to 50 people.
  • Fee:        $160.00

Proof of residency is required before permit will be issued (one month before event) Current Park Pass, Vessel Use Permit ID Card, or Drivers License in conjunction with current phone or electric bill will be accepted as proof. Must be 21 years or older to make a Reservation.
  • Cost: $10.00 per person Camping Fee, does not include Island  Camping Guest Ticket and Ferry Ticket fees.(See below for details)
  • Permit is for overnight camping of no more than 25 people per evening (may be up to 3 separate groups).
  • Only one night per family per season—Permits are Non-Transferable
  • Area available for overnight camping:  June 13- Sept 12, 2009.
  • No Campfires or Fireworks
  • Grills, picnic tables (bathrooms and showers available).
  • No Pets allowed.
Additional Fees:

  • All non-Current Park Pass Holders need Island Camping Guest Tickets, which need to be purchased by the Greenwich Resident/Permit Holder.  The cost is $8.00 per person(includes parking fee & Daily Park Pass Fee) – These can only be purchased at Town Hall- 2nd Fl – Parks & Recreation Office. Ferry Fees still apply. Ticket requirements still apply for when using private boats.

  • Ferry Fees: $ 2.00 per person  (5 – 15 years old)
                       $ 3.00 per person  (16 – 64 years old)

  • GCI Ferry runs with Tide and has a sporadic weekly schedule.  (Please check Ferry Schedule for details before your outing)


Island Beach

  • Non-Refundable $30.00 Reservation Fee required to secure date. Proof of residency is required before permit will be issued (one month before event) Current Park Pass, Vessel Use Permit ID Card, or Drivers License in conjunction with current phone or electric bill will be accepted as proof.  Must be 21 years or older to make a Reservation.
