The Mission of the Greenwich Board of Parks and Recreation is to pursue and promote a standard of excellence in the development of comprehensive park systems and quality facilities which encourage diverse recreational opportunities and the preservation of natural resources.
The Greenwich Conservation Commission is an advisory board set up under State Statute and local ordinance to assist the Town with planning and management of its natural and cultural resources.

It is the purpose of the Greenwich Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agency to protect the citizens of the State of Connecticut and Town of Greenwich by making provision for the protection, preservation, maintenance and use of the inland wetlands and watercourses.
The Commission is responsible for zoning standards throughout the Town and preparation of a zoning map and regulations reflecting these standards. The planning responsibilities include the task of preparing a long-range plan for future development and recommendations for the most desirable use of the land within the Town. The Commission also regulates and reviews municipal improvement projects and subdivisions of land.
The Greenwich Shellfish Commission provides recreational shellfishing for the inhabitants of Greenwich by overseeing the resource that consists of hard and soft-shell clams, razor clams, mussels, oysters and slipper shells.
The Committee will, among other things, advise the First Selectman on the development and implementation of the Town's Waterways Management Plan, the protection and enhancement of the Town's coastal habitat and water quality, and the recreational and commercial uses of the Town's coastal waters.
The Team will work to improve energy efficiency for Town operations by categorizing energy usage, developing and implementing monitoring procedures, recognize energy management programs and identifying and helping to secure financing available to the Town as a result of utilizing energy efficient technologies.

Calf Island Conservancy, Inc. works in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to promote beneficial public uses and habitat enhancement on Calf Island, part of the Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge.
